How Much Do Roof Lanterns Cost?

How much will a roof lantern set you back, financially? This is one of our most frequently asked questions and, the truth of it, is that it depends entirely on the roof lantern you decide to have installed. We’ve put together this blog to further illuminate you on roof lantern costs, so that one of our roof lanterns may illuminate your home, in turn!

Anything that is opulent or luxurious always costs a lot of money, right? Not necessarily. Aliwood offers luxury roof lanterns at a price point that’s far more affordable than usual for bespoke roof lights. But how can this be the case? Through experience, expertise and the best machine technology. We have perfected our system to create high-quality roof lanterns with little to no waste in a time-saving manner. We pass these savings onto you, the customer, by providing an affordable product without having to compromise on quality, style or craftsmanship.

At Aliwood, we believe that everyone should be able to improve their home and enjoy an abundance of natural light, which is an incredibly important thing for your health. In fact, in many cases, it’s this wealth of natural light that turns a house into a home. Our wealth of experience and knowledge within the industry is what enables us to offer such competitive prices for our roof lanterns in Essex and across the UK.

Size Matters

Contrary to what some people may tell you, size does matter, or at least, it does in the world of roof lanterns. Our roof lanterns come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and it is their custom nature that sets us apart from many of our competitors. This does mean, however, that there’s a whole spectrum of pricing points that entirely depend on the shape and size of the roof lantern you want for your home.

In terms of our square roof lanterns, the smallest available option (between 900mm2 – 1.2m2) comes in at under £1000. The largest available square roof lantern, by comparison, which measures in at 3m2will cost you around £3200 . If you think you’ll want a roof lantern which plumps somewhere in the middle of these two sizes, then a roof lantern measuring 2 square metres will cost approx. £2100.

For those looking for rectangular roof lanterns, the pricings are as follows: the smallest rectangular roof lantern (1.5m x 2m) is approx. £2300. A more medium-sized rectangular roof lantern, that sits somewhere in the middle of the sizing spectrum (around 2m x 4m) is around £3300. If you’re looking for a truly grand rectangular roof lantern, then Aliwood can also offer this! A roof lantern measuring 3m x 5.6m will cost approx. £4500.

To Install, Or Not To Install, That Is The Question

Our roof lanterns come with a Supply Only option, or a Supply and Install option. The supply only option delivers your roof lantern in its component parts, along with an easy to follow installation video that your builder can use to install your roof lantern within 3-4 hours. If you want the roof lantern installed, installation costs start at £800 (dependent on location). With this option, you can rest assured that the roof lantern will be installed perfectly, promptly and without fuss. Our installation team are incredibly efficient and appreciate the benefits a roof lantern can provide; that carries into the attention to detail and quality of service that they provide.

It is also worth thinking about the type of glass you want for the panes of your roof lantern, and whether you want a vent installed. The aforementioned prices were all for roof lanterns featuring standard glass panes and without any vents. However, Aliwood also offers roof lanterns with thermally efficient solar glass options and the option for a vent, both of which only cost a small amount more. Don’t worry, though, as all these price options will be included in your quote!
