Remember, remember the 5th of November!

Bonfire night is fast approaching, and we’ll soon be enjoying firework displays and toffee apples, whilst wrapped up with a hot chocolate. It’s a wonderful time of year and if you have a contemporary roof lantern, there’s even more reason to celebrate. If you’re planning your own get together, you’ll have the perfect party venue and best view in the house – even from indoors!

Getting Together

At this time of year, it’s all about getting your family and friends together, especially after the year we’ve had! Your contemporary roof lantern promises to create an atmosphere that is welcoming and spacious, perfect for the festivities at the latter end of the year.

With Guy Fawkes night, you will probably be spending most of the evening outside but it’s nice to have a cosy abode to pile into after the fireworks are over. You’ll easily be able to get everyone into your living room with a roof lantern extension – they’re the perfect way to expand your living space and create an open plan family room. Be sure to decorate with candles and pumpkins to bring that autumn/winter spirit indoors.

Festive Food

After the fireworks, it’s time for dinner and drinks! All good get togethers involve some novelty treats. Firework night is the perfect excuse to crack out the winter food. For large gatherings, help yourself style always goes down a treat.

Use your contemporary roof lantern to highlight the festive buffet table below. Your guests won’t be able to keep their hands off your delicious food and drinks. A hot buffet at this time of year goes down a treat. Try baked potatoes with lots of fillings, sausages and of course, a large decanter of mulled wine to warm your cockles! When dinner is over, head outside for sparklers and s’mores.

Staying Safe

A contemporary roof lantern gives you the perfect excuse to host a bonfire party, and if you’re not one for the cold, you can watch the glittering skies from the comfort of your own home. Gaze at the beautiful fireworks above from inside, using your roof lantern as the perfect viewing gallery. Nothing is more magical. If you have young children, it makes the perfect safe space too. The kids can be supervised easily, away from the bonfire/fireworks and the noise won’t be as loud for them either, win win!

Whatever the Weather

Whilst we hope that the skies are clear this bonfire night, there’s no telling what the British weather will do. So, whatever the weather, with a contemporary roof lantern you can be sure that you’re prepared. Wrap up warm and have a waterproof or two to hand, but if the showers start, you can still enjoy a magical evening from indoors.

Our roof lanterns are well insulated, so you won’t feel any cold once indoors. Here at Aliwood, we use thermal breaks in our builds, as they have low thermal conductivity, which prevents thermal energy from passing through. Our glazing options also help to retain even more heat within your home. We use insulated glazing with 4-16-4mm toughened glass.

Cosy Up

After the party, you can cosy up and enjoy a wintery evening underneath the stars with cosy blankets. Sit back and relax below the glittering skies – sounds perfect to us!
