Why We Use Low-Carbon Materials In Our Timber Roof Lanterns

Being eco-friendly is extremely important for us here at Aliwood. We’re very mindful of the waste our business can create, which is why from the outset, we proposed to be attentive to our own carbon footprint.

We use low embodied carbon materials which we find are of a better quality than materials that have a detrimental effect on the environment. We find that using low-carbon materials demonstrates our awareness of the environment and over the years, have recognised the world is working to becoming more environmentally friendly.

Low Energy Manufacturing Process

We use materials that can be renewed with natural fibres and that are compatible with low processing operations. Over the years, we have worked incredibly hard to increase the energy efficiency of our products, which are of the best quality and in themselves are environmentally friendly. We recognise that some wood varnishes can limit recyclability which is why we spray-apply Teknos paint. This is far kinder to the environment due to their low levels of VOC and the lack of heavy metal additives.

Finest Quality Products

As much as we can, we aim for self-sufficiency. Nothing in our warehouse goes to waste, we find a use for any material that may be left over. This drive is the same for the quality of our timber roof lanterns. Our timber is sourced from certified forests and is a sustainable alternative to PVC and tropical hardwoods. The reason why our timber roof lanterns prove to be a popular choice for many is due to the premium grade Redwood Timber. Not only is it produced from low-carbon materials, but it’s also sustainable for the long term. Due to its premium quality, it’s reluctant to shrink and won’t lose its value with age.

Carbon Dioxide

Not only do we want to provide our clients with the eco-friendliest timber roof lanterns, but we also ensure our products create the lowest impact possible on the environment.
