Rectangular Roof Lantern
The correct proportions and positioning of your rectangular roof lantern are essential for maintaining the balance and flow of a space. Whilst there is an element of personal choice, generally keeping the roof lantern in proportion to the room’s shape is advisable, a rectangular roof lantern for a rectangular room.
However, depending on how you plan on using the room, there may be exceptions to the rule. Two square (pyramid) roof lanterns could be installed to highlight different areas of an open-plan room while maintaining the overall proportions.
A rectangular roof lantern can run the full length of your room, making a real impact and transforming it into a bright, spacious area. This type of slim frame roof lantern is ideal when you want to maximise light across a wider span. Equally, a roof lantern placed above a dining table or kitchen island can be a real focal point and help define a space.
As with the option of two square lanterns in an open-plan room, you may choose to incorporate two rectangular lanterns to create designated zones within the space. This can improve flow and help visually connect different areas of the room.
As our made-to-order aluminium-capped roof lanterns do not include a vent as standard, we offer the option to include a single or double vent at an additional cost. The number of rafters will be dependent on the size of your lantern.
